Our Story

Surrounded by the local countryside, our flower farm is based on the Rothamsted Estate in the avenues area of Harpenden in Hertfordshire. We’ve lived and worked on the estate for the past nine years, and grow flowers from seed on various plots of land close to our farm cottage.

I’ve dabbled in floristry for many years and was given my biggest ‘break’ when asked to do the wedding flowers for my brother and sister in law in 2016. From then on I frequently daydreamed (typical Pisces) about running my own floristry set up, or ‘playing with flowers’, as many people like to call it!

When I continued my floristry training I started to think about the sustainability of the industry and decided I wanted to be part of the movement to reduce its environmental impact. We turned the land that we’d been growing vegetables on to cut flowers, and we haven’t looked back! The British-grown cut flower community is thriving and full of knowledge and new ideas to make floristry harmonious with nature as it really should be, and I’m honoured to be part of that community.

Having grown up in the Fens to the north of Cambridge, and being one half Mauritian, the rich dark fenland earth and the warmth and vibrant tropical colours of Mauritius run through my veins in equal measure and each contribute to my love for nature and my flair in floristry. There is a history of flower-growing in the Mauritian side of my family and I have precious memories of walking to my mémée’s house before school and finding her tending to her beautiful garden with mindful dedication as the sun rose.
